Celebration of work dedicated to the common good
Celebration of work dedicated to the common good
In the midst of minute things, the sun rises every day.
At the dawn, when the darkness dissipates and, in silence, the light of the morning blossoms, the baker handles the dough.
Deep inside, he knows that the golden wheat has been harvested, threshed, ground, mixed, and now must be kneaded to see its purpose fulfilled: to turn it into bread.
It is necessary that from his hands the just force is applied—enough to remove the dough from its initial state, letting it rise, giving it lightness, and turning it into delicious food.
The force applied generates movement, process, transformation.
And wouldn’t that be the real function of work?
In the awakening of the mind, one applies the force of work upon oneself. Given the example of each person, we are be able to ferment the transforming action within the environment, enhancing the taste of life and guaranteeing happiness in giving and receiving our daily bread.
May 1st in PRÓ-VIDA
This is the work celebrated in PRÓ-VIDA on May 1st. The date, established as Labor Day in several countries, represents, for our Movement, an opportunity to celebrate action guided by the ideal of building a better world.
For this reason, thousands of participants gather at events in PRÓ-VIDA Clubs, centers, meeting and reception points around the world. In this context, the annual general meetings of the Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA (General Center for the Tithe – PRÓ-VIDA) are held, with results that go beyond the numbers of donated items or benefitted institutions, as they express the continuity of a work initiated by Dr. Celso Charuri, founder and conceiver of the Movement, whose example of love and goodness inspires the actions of those who have understood his purpose.
