One Day
Always being immersed in commitments, schedules, traffic and routines, people become accustomed to a series of rather similar events, which lead them to act automatically, without attention to detail, without being aware of the path they are taking. And very often, innumerable sensations go unnoticed; information transmitted by a variety of channels through which symbols and signs reach us, from advertising and images on television to small gestures or even a look.
One day, an opportunity makes us realize the existence of something greater. As we discover the mind, we begin to glimpse a more subtle world and new forms of communication. One also learns to listen to an inner voice, the one that exists on the inside of each one of us and that connects all to something present, unique and special.
And on that day… A friend woke up in a big city. He knew he needed to be on time for an important meeting, and immediately imagined the chaos and traffic caused by the rain. In a hurry, he decided to take a cab.
While talking to the driver, he identified with and reflected on what that man told him about his life.
Upon arriving at the destination, the driver asked him: “Can I tell you a story?”
Despite the time, he nodded
“You know something? Every day, when I wake up, I find a present at the head of the bed, a gift imbued with love. Throughout the day, I open the package and begin to find joys, sorrows, pleasant and unpleasant experiences, which can mean wins or losses. But at the end of the day, I am always grateful for all the situations I have experienced. After all, I know the love placed in that box as a gift. For this reason, I wish today, that inside your present, you have a wonderful day.”
The passenger thanked him and got out of the car thinking…
Something in that situation had connected him with a feeling beyond words and modified him and thus, also the result of his day.
Also “One Day” we found a Man who, by sharing his life with friends, led them to a world of happiness. With his daily example, he demonstrated that it was possible for each to direct his own life, to achieve his own goals and to go one step further, to dedicate himself to greater purposes by offering himself to build a better world for all.
A special day in PRÓ-VIDA, in which—united by an Ideal and together in the same action—we will celebrate the opportunity that was granted to us by making donations to charitable institutions. A gesture that expresses our leading banner, raised by Dr. Celso, whose example taught—and still teaches today—a path toward building a Much Better World for everyone.
