Donation in Italy benefits five Institutions

“We believe in the word ‘believe,’” said PRÓ-VIDA representative Paolo Cefariello at the Donation Ceremony held by the Centrale delle Decime d’Italia – CDI (Center for the Tithe of Italy — CDI) on July 4 in Legnago, Italy. The event formalized the donation of dozens of items to five charitable institutions.

The gesture aims not only to provide immediate assistance to each institution in meeting its needs, but, above all, to set an example that a better world is possible based on a more solidary view towards society.

“We are well aware that the donation we made to you today will not solve the institutions’ problems. (…) Material goods deteriorate and, at a certain point, disappear. An example does not. An example remains; it is eternal. The example we truly want to leave you is that it is possible to build and to live, starting right now, in a better world,” said Cefariello.

The institutions’ representatives present at the ceremony commented on the impact the items will have on the care they provide to the people they assist. “This [van] comes to us like manna from heaven. I am happy to see so many people dedicated to expanding the culture of giving, the culture of being close to those in need, to those who are suffering,” said Pier Luigi Schiavo of Associazione Legnago Soccorso.

For the first time, the CDI carried out a donation in Legnago. It is the result of the work of PRÓ-VIDA participants who recognized mind development as the path to achieving a more harmonic life, not only for themselves, but for everyone. But why develop the mind?

“By developing the mind, a person will be able to see beyond themselves, (…) realizing that, right there, close by, someone needs help. With this expansion of consciousness, something wonderful happens. The desire to care for the needs of the person beside them will arise within them,” Paolo explained, referring to Dr. Celso’s teaching that people build the society in which they live, not the other way around.

Based on this premise, Dr. Celso organized the PRÓ-VIDA mind training and development program. PRÓ-VIDA is a Movement he founded in 1978. The following year, he made the first donation to a charitable institution, setting, through his example, the conduct that leads a human being to true happiness: giving happiness.
